  • Invitation and Overview

Applications are invited from untenured IS junior faculty to participate in the Junior Faculty Consortium (JFC) which will take place on Saturday, 3rd December 2011 (tentatively from 9am to 5pm). The event will be held at the conference venue in Shanghai.

The Junior Faculty Consortium consists of panels, discussions and interactive sessions built around issues related to becoming a successful faculty member. Each activity will be facilitated by a select group of
highly-successful IS faculty from universities around the world. This consortium will allow each participant to interact with both new and senior faculty and to share their experiences, thoughts, and concerns about developing a career in academia. .

Topics that might be covered include: research strategies, publishing issues, building a network of colleagues, tenure pitfalls and experiences, collegiality, teaching and service duties, and work-life balance.

Eligibility: Eligible campers include all untenured AIS members beginning their first four years in an academic position (including post-docs). The number of participants is limited in order to maintain the richness and intimacy of the experience. Please see the information below on how to apply for the consortium.
