  • Chris F. Kemerer

    Dr. Chris F. Kemerer is the David M. Roderick Professor of Information Systems at the Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh and an Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University.  Previously, he was an Associate Professor at MIT’s Sloan School of Management. 

    He received the B.S. degree magna cum laude from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and the Ph.D. degree from Carnegie Mellon University, where his dissertation topic was “Measurement of Software Development Productivity”. 

    His current research interests include management and measurement issues in information systems and software engineering, and he has published more than sixty articles on these topics in a number of professional and academic journals, including Communications of the ACM, IEEE Computer, IEEE Software, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, Information and Software Technology, Information Systems Research, Management Science, MIS Quarterly, Sloan Management Review, and others, as well as editing two books. 

    Dr. Kemerer serves or has served on the editorial boards of the Annals of Software Engineering, Communications of the ACM, Empirical Software Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, Information Systems Research, the Journal of Organizational Computing, the Journal of Software Quality, and MIS Quarterly, and is a member of INFORMS, ACM, and the IEEE Computer Society.  He is a past Departmental Editor for Information Systems at Management Science, immediate past Editor-in-Chief of Information Systems Research, and is a Senior Editor for MIS Quarterly.
